Purpose of Position

The E-Commerce Manager Japan is a member of the Sennheiser Direct Sales Channel Team. The function is responsible for the management of Sennheiser’s Japan E-Commerce business with the aim to provide a premium online shopping experience to Sennheiser’s customers in this region, to achieve defined annual T/O goals as well as to proactively shape and ensuring over-proportional growth in the B-to-C business in accordance with the Direct Sales and the Japanese Retail Strategy. Online sales on Sennheiser.com and Marketplaces are a key element of this strategy. With her/his comprehensive experience and expert knowledge, the position holder will play an important role in the global E-Commerce team, contributing to the design and execution of an ambitious growth strategy in business and profit in this area. The role will influence and coordinate across global and regional teams in supply chain, customer service and marketing. The role will also lead a variety of outside service providers related to logistics and marketing services.


Accountabilities/Key Responsibilities

  • Develops annual E-Commerce plan for Japan including product promotions and Direct Marketing strategy
  • Taking care of the operational E-Commerce tasks like product setup in Globale, Shopify, Price management in Sennjet and Shopify etc.
  • Develops and executes plans to achieve sales and profit to meet and/or exceed assigned targets
  • Develops and analyses performance metrics for the area (sales, website performance etc.) and initiates improvements
  • Provides accurate forecasts of projected sales, profit and growth covering monthly, quarterly, and yearly numbers
  • Answer Customer Service requests
  • Manage the the Globale Webshop and develop an own operated setup with Shopify in alignment with the global E-Commerce Team and all stakeholders
  • Coordinates the alignment of DM communication targets with Global Marketing and Trade Marketing teams
  • Oversees the execution of DM tactics to increase qualified traffic to the store
  • Guides and approves the work of outside marketing service providers and ensures premium, timely and on budget deliverables
  • Oversees logistics processes related to store inventory and order process in teamwork with Supply Chain and Customer Service teams
  • Recommends product assortment and price strategy changes
  • Provides sales and marketing status reports to the Manager E-Commerce global
  • Represents and actively supports global direct sales projects and provides Japan insight to the global team
  • Pro-actively researches new trends and opportunities in E-Commerce and suggests related changes to overall strategy
  • Supports the Direct Sales Channel Leader and the global E-Commerce team in identifying (strategic) sales and marketing opportunities, contributes to channel strategy development and ensures execution in his/her region
  • Manage Marketplaces and find / implement new strong marketplaces

Job Requirements

  • 3 or more years of experience in E-Commerce, preferably in Consumer Electronics Sector
  • Proven experience in developing and executing ambitious E-Commerce growth strategies
  • Proven ability to take responsibility for achieving stated objectives
  • Motivated to work in an international team
  • Proficient in Online Marketing including: SEM, Email Marketing, Retargeting, Affiliate programs
  • Strong working experience with CMS and E-commerce platforms
  • Working experience with supply chain processes and forecasting systems
  • Working experience as a direct-contact and person in charge for end-user inquiries
  • Background in online merchandising and assortment planning
  • Proficient in budgeting and vendor management
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Solid experience in selecting/utilizing analytical online tools
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • English proficiency
