Development Engineer Packaging (m/w/d)
limited 18 months (parental leave cover)
Your tasks
- You are independently responsible for the implementation of packaging projects. This includes the development and execution of packaging concepts for products and their transportation, in collaboration with relevant departments across the company and with external service providers
- You develop new packaging solutions in cooperation with suitable packaging suppliers and optimize existing packaging made from various materials, taking into account applicable laws, standards, and guidelines (e.g., regarding environmental compatibility and recycling)
- You test and evaluate new packaging solutions in terms of functionality and cost-effectiveness
- You are responsible for creating and maintaining the relevant packaging information in the PDM and ERP systems.
- You identify potential for optimization within the existing packaging portfolio
- You coordinate technical topics with the relevant functions and adjacent departments, as well as with external partners
Your profile
- You hold a degree in Packaging Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable field of study, or have completed a relevant vocational training program of at least three years, combined with several years of professional experience
- You possess in-depth knowledge of packaging technologies, material selection, and manufacturing processes
- You have the ability to independently analyze and optimize (packaging) processes
- You demonstrate strong communication skills, act responsibly, and work in a self-organized manner. In addition, you have excellent verbal and written skills in both English and German
- You bring experience in the documentation and standardization of packaging processes
- You are characterized by openness, curiosity, and a strong desire for continuous personal and professional development
